Bio:
My name is Ville Ericsson and I am a 24 year old artist born in Sweden and partly raised in Australia.
I love to create, be it through drawing, thinking up stories or making music. I have always enjoyed art, ever since I was a kid when I would roll out gigantic pieces of paper on the living room floor and draw huge space stations and stick figure battles.
When I was 10, my family and I moved to Australia and stayed there for 5 years. By this time I had started to grow an interest in videogames. After a year or two I also discovered photoshop which sparked a new interest in art for me. I had never realised that it was possible to create artworks digitally and I immediately set out to teach myself the program.
At the age of 15 we moved back to Stockholm and I stumbled upon conceptart.org. I was immensely inspired by the artists on there and they made me realise that you are in control of your own artistic development, if you are willing to put the time and effort in. I immediately set out to start drawing and learning as much as I could. I decided that getting a job doing art for games and movies would be perfect for me, and I set that as one of my goals. Two years later I took part in a life drawing and cast drawing summer course at Atelier Stockholm which taught me a lot about the techniques used in traditional fine art. It also introduced me to fine art and the old master painters, who provide a source of endless inspiration for me.
I am currently studying full-time at Atelier Stockholm.
